Château de la Barbière

  This castle is located in the French Ardennes in le Mont-Dieu with postal code 08390 (near le Chesne) only about 30 km from the Belgian border. Very easy and quick to reach from Belgium and the Netherlands.  

It is a very beautiful, natural region with forest and open fields. A very beautiful region for walks and cycling, motorbike or car trips. (including the abbey route). From the Castle you also have a very nice view.  

There are 8 bedrooms for a total of 15 people. There are 7 bedrooms for 2 persons and 1 bedroom for 1 person. There are 4 bathrooms with showers and sinks and toilets. Each room also has its own sink. There is a dining room with room for 15 people, followed by a lounge with a wood-burning stove.

There is also a spacious chapel. This is accessible through an inner door from the Castle. In the chapel are some seats and a football table. It is an additional seating and relaxation area. Of course there is also an equipped kitchen with a dishwasher.  

Next to the sitting room there is a large covered terrace. A little further in the garden there is a campfire place. 

A small supermarket with butcher's shop and 2 bakeries are located in Le Chesne at 8 km. Le Chesne also houses le Lac de Bairon, a large recreational lake with swimming and sports facilities and 2 restaurants with a beautiful terrace.
